About Dan Harry
Daniel "Dan" Harry is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Fayetteville, Tennessee, playing folk, bluegrass, blues, and acoustic rock.
Like a lot of Southern musicians, Dan got his start in church, singing and playing for the congregation long before he ever stepped onto a bar stage. He picked up the guitar in his early teens and never put it down. At 19 he released his first solo album, Forgotten Dreams (2009), writing, singing, and playing every note on it himself.
He went on to study Music Business at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), and while there he worked stage crew with MT Production Services, building stages for shows by Dream Theater, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, and Jeremy Camp.
In his early twenties Dan became lead vocalist and guitarist of the Murfreesboro band Copper Into Steel, mixing twangy bluegrass with acoustic rock. The band toured from New Orleans to New York and released its album Alchemy in 2013. Dozens of the band's live sets from 2011 to 2014 are preserved in the Internet Archive's Live Music Archive.
Today Dan plays solo across Southern Middle Tennessee and North Alabama at restaurants, wineries, festivals, and private events, and he's a go-to wedding ceremony musician, DJ, and MC. He fronts the Jerry Harry Band, plays guitar and sings in Midnight Jane, and teaches guitar, bass, and vocal lessons to students ages 10 and up.
